SurfLingo Kids · coming soon · ages 4 to 11

Their cartoons, their Spanish.

SurfLingo Kids will put bubbles on the words in their cartoons. A word catches their eye? One tap on the bubble: the cartoon waits, Pepito says the word and shows what it means. Then the word goes into their picture book.

One email, at launch. No newsletter.

I watch. I tap. I colour.

No lessons, no grammar: their cartoons are the class, and Pepito does the rest.

  1. I watch.

My cartoon, in its original language. The words you can draw float in bubbles.

  2. I tap.

The cartoon waits for me. Pepito says the word out loud and shows me what it means.

  3. I colour.

The word lands in my picture book as an outline. When I recognise it in Pepito’s game, it gets its colours.

A picture book that fills with colour as the words stick.

Every word they tap goes into their picture book as an outline. Pepito brings it back in the game at the right moment, and every right answer adds colour. Fully coloured, the word is learned.

Under the crayons, SurfLingo’s memory: a word comes back a day later, then after three days, a week, two weeks, a month and three months.

  1. CaughtTapped in a cartoon.
  2. RecognisedFound again in Pepito’s game.
  3. KnownRecognised again, days later.

Made for kids. Set by parents.

SurfLingo Kids keeps SurfLingo’s player and memory. Everything else can wait.

  • No ads. Ever.

No banners, no sponsored videos, no purchases offered to your child.

  • No streak to lose.

No counter drops back to zero. Coming back is always a treat, and stopping is never a fault.

  • The mic stays off.

SurfLingo listens to the cartoon, never to the room.

  • The sound stays on your Mac.

The cartoon is transcribed on the Mac’s chip. Nothing goes online to understand it.

  • No friends, no chat, no leaderboard.

SurfLingo Kids is played alone, with Pepito.

  • You set the time.

At the set time, the tide goes out: Pepito says goodbye and the bubbles fall asleep.

  • A dictionary for kids.

Words you can draw, their everyday meaning, and no swear words.

  • The parents’ corner is locked.

It opens with Touch ID or the Mac’s password.

Soon included in your plan.

SurfLingo Kids will be part of the Monthly and Yearly plans at no extra cost. One profile for each child in the house, and a single account: yours.

Parents’ questions

When does SurfLingo Kids come out?

We’re building it right now, and we won’t give a date we can’t keep. Leave your email at the top of the page: we’ll write the day it launches.

From what age?

From 4, with the “I can’t read yet” mode: everything goes through sound and pictures. Once reading starts, the translation is written under each word too.

Which cartoons?

The ones your home already watches: YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV, Prime Video, your own files… Anything that plays on your Mac.

I don’t speak the language. Can I still help?

Yes. Pepito says every word, and the parents’ corner suggests three words a week to repeat at home, pronunciation included.

Which languages?

SurfLingo’s nine: English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Norwegian, Japanese, Korean and French.

What will SurfLingo know about my child?

A first name, or a nickname, and their picture book. No email, no photo, and the mic stays off. The account stays yours, and you can delete their profile at any time.

And on tablets?

SurfLingo Kids will come to the Mac first, like the player.

Their first wave is waiting.

SurfLingo Kids is being built right now. Leave your email: we’ll write the day Pepito arrives.
